Having spent a few days this week looking at a huge pile of snow on a sloped, iron roof hang precariously on and over the guttering and spouting, my thoughts have turned to snow straps. Why aren’t they put on a house/flat as a matter of course, when they’re being built? Sure, they’ll add to the cost but look at what that investment will save, if it snows and the weight of it damages the spouting or brings it down completely? Experienced spouters/gutter tradespeople can install snow straps efficiently and effectively.
