These are the terms and conditions we use to guide our business activities:
DIY Devotes Ltd’s Director is an orderly soul who likes to plan and book things well in advance so our service providers aren’t left in the lurch nor us put in a difficult position. We avoid this by requiring any workshop cancellations to be made in writing to us, by either email or fax. Cancellation notifications must specify: (i) the full name used in the booking (ii) the attendee’s physical address (iii) the name and date of the workshop (iv) the physical location of the workshop.
Upon receiving notification of a cancellation, a DIY Devotee will confirm receipt of the notice. If the attendee has not received a confirmation of the cancellation within 24 hours after it was submitted, it means we haven’t received it and the cancellation notice needs to be resubmitted.
Cancellation notices received: (i) 20 working days from the date of the workshop will be entitled to a 100% refund (ii) 15 working days from the date of the workshop will not be entitled to a refund (iii) 10 or less working days from the date of the workshop will not be entitled to a refund.
DIY Devotees Ltd’s intention is to have DIY Devotees completely satisfied with their products and services and as such, join our legion of raving fans. If for any reason you’re less than happy about things, don’t tell others – please tell us immediately. Contact the Director, Sue Dwan, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by phoning (03) 3794107.
DIY Devotees Ltd takes a dim view of being ripped off, which is why we don’t want you ripped off either. We adhere to the requirements of the Privacy Act, the Consumer Guarantees Act and the Fair Trading Act – all legislation that applies to transactions within New Zealand.
DIY Devotees Ltd sometimes find instant gratification a bit slow but we’ve realised we have to be more realistic. This means we will despatch goods purchased by cheque or money order or by direct deposit when the funds have been cleared from the bank. This may take up to five working days.
DIY Devotees Ltd value communications yet dislike uninvited email. We will put DIY Devotees’ email addresses (taken from order forms and applications to join the DIY Devotee Club) in our database, so we can have regular contact by electronic e-zine to keep you up to date with our products, services and handy hints. According to the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007, this is 'inferred consent'. If at any stage a DIY Devotee no longer wishes to be on the mailing list, simply unsubscribe and you’ll be taken off the subscription list.
DIY Devotees Ltd like simple systems and don’t like to cause extra work for their administrator. For this reason we don’t accept partial payments for any of our goods or services. All monies must be paid in full, at the time of ordering goods or booking workshops.
DIY Devotees Ltd values their privacy and yours. We will store any client information that comes to us via the web site, telephone or postal orders, electronic or faxed mail however information will only be used by us to send out orders and the bi-monthly newsletter. DIY Devotees’ details will not be given to any other organisation.
DIY Devotees Ltd values win-win situations however we will not provide a refund if a DIY Devotee has changed their mind about a purchase. If the goods are faulty however, we will meet our obligations under the Consumers Guarantees Act, upon receipt of the returned goods and the original receipt, within 14 days of purchase. If we don't get enough participants to run a scheduled course, the course will be cancelled. Participants will have the option to either rebook for another date or, receive a refund.
